Hey friends! Ladybug and I just finished up dinner I wanted to tell you all how grateful we are for everyone who donated to Ladybug when we asked for support! I get messages from time to time about what we need and other ways to help our bug - so I made an Amazon wish list for her! It only has 3 packs of her food and a bag of the litter she uses - but if anyone wanted to help out with feeding our favorite bug we would be so grateful and would send you some personal Ladybug glamour shots! ‍♀️❤️ She’s on a strict 3 cans a day diet to put on weight - so we keep plowing through food! My grandma @vivschladoer made this quilt for me a few years ago and today Ladybug is enjoying it while I finish her laundry ❤️ As for an update, we’re still doing kind of the same! Her back foot has been looking a lot better since part of the scab fell off this past weekend during a bath. She’s now drinking water on her own (huge step) and has been jumping up on the couch regularly and she’s still great at using the box. Her nose is getting a lot of food caked on it constantly and it’s hard to clean so she is constantly looking like a mess ‍♀️. She’s well loved though and continues eating and taking her meds really well. Hey friends! Thought I would update y’all on this past week with our Ladybug Here’s a photo of her in what we have dubbed “Ladybug’s wellness corner” - we have all the supplies you could need and we’re working hard to make sure she’s comfy. This past weekend was a little tough, we realized that the one medication that we increased just wasn’t cutting it. So in addition to Terbinafine, Ladybug is now taking Fluconazole. We started this new regimen on Monday and the good news is that we haven’t seen any new growth on her nose and other problem spots - and it almost looks like they could have gone down a little too, but it’s very soon to tell! She has also been eating 3 cans of food a day and has put on a little weight! Yay! The appetite and purring and affection are there which means we’re carrying on with our game plan and supplying lots of love in the meantime. Ladybug and I have gotten into a new habit as well... it turns out we love some reality television. Most nights I put a towel on my lap and we watch a few episodes of the @bacheloretteabc or @loveislandusa (I think bachelorette is her favorite though) She loves being held and making biscuits on my thighs (ouch!) She truly never wants to stop being pet! Hey all! We got the call from our vet and the good news is Ladybug is cancer free! The biopsy came back and her body is fighting a fungal infection called Cryptococcosis. This particular fungal infection is caused from exposure to pigeon feces, so lil bug must have been out on the streets for a while, taking refuge in a very unsanitary place. This is what is effecting her nose, tail, and feet - so there is a fungus among us! We’re treating her with anti fungal meds, getting a new topical anti-fungal as well and buckling down for a long recovery period - it typically takes 2-4 months of treatment to kick this. We believe we caught it soon enough so that she won’t have any neurological effects from Cryptococcosis. It’s going to be a long treatment period, so keep the good thoughts and vibes coming! Our poor girl has been through it, but she has been recovering like a champ from her surgery - she was 4 pounds when we first got her and now she’s up to 6 pounds! Just gotta stay diligent on meds and keep her gaining weight.
