Sorry for the non-bookish photo, I was thinking that today's post could be a bit more of a discussion/chat with you guys ☺So, a few weeks ago I switched to a business account, because the brand I was working with at the time expected me to be able to use the "swipe up to see link" function in my IG stories. I've had a business account before, but back then I had a feeling that Instagram started hiding my posts from my followers after a while, so I switched back to my personal account. Everything went back to normal, but lately I've been feeling a lot of pressure from brands to have access to business-account functions and analytics so I decided to give it another shot. As you might have noticed, I've already switched back again, because all of my suspicions from the first time turned out to be true. Nothing happened at first, but after a week or so, my posts stopped appearing in people's feeds, and I started getting questions from followers asking where my posts were. My profile visits dropped by 900 in a week, and my reach dropped by half. My content stayed pretty much the same, so I'm fairly sure it's just the IG-algorithm treating business accounts differently in people's feeds. I would love to know if any of you guys have had similar experiences, or if it's just me? I would also love to know which type of account you prefer! I love the business account functions, but I hate how Instagram is constantly trying to get you to buy "promotions" for your posts. After this, I'm definitely not going back to a business account anytime soon, but I would love to know how those of you who are also working with brands feel about this (and maybe those of you who are actually businesses)? What are your thoughts on the whole business/personal account aspect of Instagram?
