Officially introducing this boy to the social media world because we now have a more permanent case plan of guardianship and I can say and do whatever I want because I’m his legal parent! This is Vallen! Val, Valley, Valley Boy (not sure how long I’ll be able to get away with that last one...) He turned two last month, and we’ve had him through kinship placement since he was 5 months old. There is still a whole lot of drama involved with our case, but for now DCS is out of the picture and I’m glad we’ve moved another step forward with making sure he has a healthy and happy life with us, surrounded by family who loves him. This last year and a half has easily been the most stressful of mine and Vince’s almost decade together, but it’s all worth it to hopefully stop the terrible cycle of hurt, addiction, and abuse for this little guy. To everyone that has helped us, thank you. We love you. To everyone who has reported my posts to his bio parents starting drama, fuck off. Expect to see his face plastered all over my social media from here on out! Also of note - I went back and forth on how I would “represent” him. His story is his story. But it’s also mine, Vince’s and Devin’s. And it could be yours. Karen Dresser says a Patient First urgent care clinic in #Waldorf, MD, denied her 12-year-old adoptive daughter treatment because the mother is white and her daughter is black. Dresser says workers at the clinic didn’t believe she was the girl’s mother, and they asked for papers to prove their relationship. She said the two had been to the clinic several times before. Dresser was so stunned she went to Facebook to see if any other mothers had been turned away or asked to produce #guardianship papers during a visit to the #clinic. Dresser says she insisted she was the 12-year-old’s mother and workers need to be better trained on how to handle these kinds of situations. Nipsey Hussle’s Sister Has Reportedly Been Denied Guardianship Of His Daughter Samantha Smith’s petition to become the legal guardian of #NipseyHussle’s daughter has reportedly been denied by a judge. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the judge denied Samantha’s request, stating that there wasn’t an urgency to grant her guardianship prior to the hearing for Nipsey’s killer on May 14th. The judge also added that Emani’s mother needed tobe given notice of the hearing. Samantha reportedly did not want to inform Emani’s mother, Tanisha, of her filing. As it has been previously reported, Samantha filed the request for guardianship to ensure that Emani can continue to have a close knit relationship with Nipsey’s side of the family.
