In honour of meeting with the legend "Annegret Fleischer" today morning, I believe this is the appropriate video. From her favorite line, the mighty, "the" chronograph Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon with solid pink gold dial. Limited to 100 pieces. * For those who do not know, Annegret Fleischer is one of Lange's first two designers along with the other legend Helmut Geyer. She is with the company since 1991 and has work behind every chronograph from the brand since then. Considering how the Datograph changed the modern watchmaking in 1999, the introduction of the "mighty" Double Split with disengagement mechanism and Tourbograph pieces; you know why I call her a legend. She was and still there the whole time! * Soon, an interview of her will be published and I strongly encourage you to discover her work and what does she mean for Lange. Meeting with her this morning, after first reading about her years ago was absolute joy to me. And she very much loved the work of Langepedia which is the ultimate blessing for me! * Back to this watch, absolutely one of the most badass pieces I've ever handled and the best movement I've ever laid my eyes upon; Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon deserves and can handle all the superlatives you can throw at it. With its patented stop-tourbillon, instantenous perpetual calendar indications (a video will come) and buttery smooth chronograph, it is a true piece of watchmaking. * The movement architecture is to me unrivaled. Yet no one can describe this better than another legend, Mr. Dufour "It is the best chronograph ever been made. Continuing with the nostalgia, this was Lange’s gorgeous take on “Calendar Week” from 2006 in platinum: 1815 “Kalenderwoche” limited to 50 pieces. * The piece was created in both yellow gold (50 pieces) and platinum to celebrate the rooted retailer “Huber’s” 150th Anniversary. A glance to the early days of the brand reveals many special editions for long-time business partners. Probably the most important one being “Datograph for Pisa” there are some fantastic examples such as Lange 1 for Leon Martens with a splendid dark brown dial, the “Side-Step” for Wempe, @singaporewatchclub exceptional 1815 for Blome and many more. Final example of this though are the beautiful 1815 up/down pieces for Wempe, only 50 pieces in total. * The watch measures at 38,5 mm in diameter. From its typography to numerals and signature three-dots on 15 minutes markers it is clear that the piece belongs to 1815 family. A very traditional look. It always surprises me how a basic 1815 evolves just with a little bit of spice. Take Homage to Walter Lange and how different it looks with only a central jumping hand. Kalenderwoche differentiates itself with the week number indication at the outer ring of the dial and day of the week indication in German implemented in small seconds. Blued hands are for the calendar indications. * The day indication can be changed via the pusher at 4 and week via 2. The movement is a derivative of a basic 1815 caliber with the engraving of “Andreas Huber Munchen 1856-2006” around the center. Overall to me, the watch is one of the many great special editions Lange made in the early days. Again other examples could easily be Langematik Anniversary or ReferenzUhr pieces. Which offer something really different, deserving the title of Special Edition. * As always, thank you all for your time and support!
