Breastfeeding foods! . If you remember one of my previous posts about eating a healthy diet during breastfeeding, you know it is not required, however, it is optimal. . Try to include some of the foods below! . | Chicken | Chicken is a classic meal that provides quality protein, B vitamins, and iron. Versilte and common to cook for most people! | Herring | Similar to sardines. DHA (an omega-3 fatty acid contained in fish) is really important while breastfeeding because although outside the womb, your babies brain is still developing! | Oats | I’m sure you’ve heard oatmeal will increase your milk supply, keep in mind this will not work for everyone, but may work for some. Besides oatmeal, you could make energy bites or even oatmeal cookies! | Roasted Squash | Lots of benefits from this color saturated plant! Plus you can roast the seeds for a snack later | Broth | Traditionally, foods during the postpartum period are warm and comforting which means soups, stews, and nourishing broths of all kinds | Water | Okay, this isn’t a food, but let’s just call breastfeeding what it is, a marathon, which means you NEED to HYDRATE! . Baby-led weaning (BLW) is when you let your baby feed themselves tasty finger foods right from the beginning - rather than starting off with spoon feeding smooth mash or purées and including finger foods around the same time or a bit later. . . . A few things to note when starting baby led weaning: • Your baby will likely gag. A lot. Babies have a great natural gag-reflex that helps them move food that has travelled too far to the back of their mouths, back to the front again so that they don’t choke. They may make a funny face and make a gagging sound, but if you wait for a few seconds, you’ll see that your baby is an expert at this and will not choke. • A baby’s kidneys are not mature enough to handle much added salt (sodium) or sugar, so it’s important to keep this is mind when you’re preparing and cooking food. There’s no need to purchase a special baby-led weaning cookbook if you don’t want to. Instead, you can do what I did and just tone down the spice and the seasoning a lot. • It’s important that you focus on iron-rich foods first and foremost (meat, poultry, fish, beans, lentils, eggs, iron-fortified grains) but feel free to introduce steamed vegetables and soft fruit, whole grains, full-fat yogurt and cheese too (but I recommend waiting until 12 months for homogenized milk). • You may be tempted to cut your baby’s food into teeny tiny pieces so that they don’t choke. Unfortunately, babies don’t have the fine motor skills to pick up tiny pieces of food and bring them to their mouths until they are around eight or nine months old (or older). This is why it’s so important that you make baby’s food pieces large enough that they can grab onto them (but soft enough that they’re safe). A homemade potato wedge or half of a skinless, boneless chicken thigh cut length-wise, or a slice of pear (peeled) are examples of appropriate sized pieces of food. • Your baby may absolutely LOVE self-feeding right from day one, and she may go through periods where she’d rather be spoon-fed... so remember.. go with the flow as every baby is different!

(Credit: What to Expect)”Breasts are celebrated on screen, in magazines, on billboards and on beaches — but, ironically, they can still be a tough sell when they’re being used to feed a baby in public. While public nursing is becoming more accepted, it still seems to attract a lot more attention than bottle-feeding — and unfortunately not always the “aww sweet” kind. But given the many benefits of breastfeeding and the fact that a hungry baby waits for no mom, you’ll quickly hang up any hangups about nursing in public. Fortunately, there are ways to nurse your baby confidently, even confidentially, in public places. . . TIPS: Give baby easier access to his or her lunch — and yourself more privacy — with two-piece outfits (no dresses, unless they have a wrap-style front or open from the front). Ideally, opt for shirts that button from the bottom up, lift up or pull to the side easily. . Practice. Before you head out, have your baby latch on while you watch in the mirror to see how much exposure you're getting, or ask your partner or a friend to observe. If you're not comfortable with the full-frontal view, you can practice turning to the side until you find what angle works best. . Try a cover. Put a blanket, shawl or poncho over your shoulders so that it drapes over your baby's head. To make sure he or she has room for easy feeding and breathing (and doesn’t get overheated), be sure it’s well-ventilated. . Wear your baby. A sling makes public breastfeeding extremely discreet (people will just think your baby is snoozing) and incredibly convenient. . Feed before the frenzy. Don't let your baby get so hungry that he or starts to fuss and cry. It's much easier to nurse discreetly if you're both calm. . Do what comes naturally. If feeding your baby in public feels right, go ahead and do it. If it doesn’t, even after some practice, opt for privacy whenever you can. . If someone does ever leer or say you don’t have the right to nurse, stand your ground and remember the law is on your side!!! Have you breastfed in public ?

This not only what a 40 POUND DIFFERENCE looks like, this also is what a complete MIND TRANSFORMATION looks like as well! My Transformation Tuesday photo tonight is more than just yes I lost 40lbs. I freakin worked HARD. I changed my mindset on food. On eating. On vegetables. ON LIFE! I get tons of support from my team that keep me going. I dont give up when the scale goes up. I dont skip a workout bc I have two small kids. I now have DETERMINATION, and I am ALL IN. I decided in January that I was going to change my life, and here I am... GOING FOR IT! Not only do i feel better physically, and when I can fit into smaller clothes, but my mind feels stronger. I know I can do hard things. I know I can help others feel the same.
