✨ . . . This is embarrassing but I hope it can inspire. The picture on the right was taken NYE 2017 just about 1.5 years ago. Suffering from depression and alcoholism I would binge drink myself to sleep 6-7 times a week, eat whatever I wanted (at least one box of kraft mac & cheese to myself a night), and isolate myself inside my bedroom to hide from the rest of the world. I didn’t even recognize who I was when I looked in the mirror. This wasn’t just about being overweight this was about giving up on yourself when you don’t feel like fighting anymore. This is about accepting and learning from your depression. I gave up for a long time until one day I remembered who the fuck I used to be. After everything I have suffered through, fought through, survived through, and overcome in my lifetime I finally realized it was time to fight for my survival once again. To fight for myself. I made changes. I made choices. I found myself. Now I look in the mirror and see the bad ass bitch that I am. I didn’t do this to fit into a mold. I didn’t do this for my social media. I didn’t do this for my friends or my family or my girlfriend. I see these before and after pictures and see SO much more than just weight loss. I see a warrior winning a war. I see someone taking control of their physical and mental health and I can say I DID THAT - and I did it FOR ME.
