Hopefully the final version of the pen plotter pen holder. This one uses tiny 693zz ball bearings to get a smooth pen raise/drop action. Five bearings on the main rail, and three more on the second rail. A set of three pen holders: newest addition is a natural/clear PLA print. Surprisingly that one had no issues whatsoever with the fine prongs of the lift lever that the other required some post-print surgery to fix ... I've tried steel rods for this version, and they add about 20 grams of pen pressure due to their weight. They also remove a great deal of friction that the dull aluminum imparts on the ball bearings, so this version slides even easier. Well, it was the belt tension (or lack thereof) all along: my diy plotter finally closes its curves as it should. The steel core gt2 belt does require a fair amount of tension, so I'm going to add a belt tensioner that can be easily disengaged for storage.
