Loving this truth... life is tough in general for just about everyone at some point.. but the spoonie life.. the chronic illness life.. it doesn’t go away and that’s ON TOP of regular life challenges... we can’t expect others to ever really understand how our daily lives are but we also have to recognize who is really part of our support system.. no it’s not just about “US” and this isn’t a pitty party.. but from the spoonies I know we have an increased amount of compassion BECAUSE of the life we live... yes we may miss a step here and there but many of us reach out periodically to check on others even while we lay on the couch counting the lasting days of a flare... so to have support during the HARD times and the good times is essential... trust me we need MORE support during though tough times.. that doesn’t mean calling all the time because usually we won’t answer anyway lol.. but a text or a picture of a positive quote or a simple “thinking of you” goes a LONG way... • • • #lifeoverautoimmunediseases #autoimmunedisease #autoimmunediseasewarrior #lupus #kikuchifujimotodisease #sjogrens #fibromyalgia #sjogrenssyndrome #hashimotosdisease #ms #rheumatoidarthritis #chronicillness #crohns #invisibleillness #spoonie #survivor #support #faith #passion #awareness #fitness #health #inform #knowledge #life #live #strength #advocate #lupusawareness

LOL Sunday mood! I always thought running was the key to weight loss, I mean all the seemingly healthy, thin people did it! But my body has rejected it since I can remember. I get tight chest pain. My skin gets itchy and rashy. I don’t get a runners high! What does get me high is dancing. Hiking. Riding a bike with good music! Chasing a storm. You get it! Find what movement makes you high and do it for fun... the physical benefits will be a bonus

For many people with #hypothyroidism and #hashimotos feeling #tired and #fatigue never end doesn’t matter how long they sleep and what type, brand or dose of #thyroid medication they take... There are a couple of reasons for that: 1. Your thyroid meds are not optimized properly. Most doctors are using too wide normal reference range for TSH vs an optimal or functional. 2. Broken thyroid hormone pathway is by far the biggest problem in people without the thyroid, people who are on T4-only meds or those who are without any treatment because they have subclinical Hypothyroidism. Even after your thyroid levels are optimized there’s no guarantee that thyroid #hormones reach your cells and perform their #metabolic action as they should. This means you may remain #hypothyroid and continue to have symptoms including fatigue. 3. Most people with hypothyroidism have #autoimmune #thyroiddisease called #hashimotosthyroiditis Taking thyroid medication only helps to replace missing thyroid hormones but it doesn’t address the autoimmune component of the disease. Autoimmunity itself is one of major contributing factors to fatigue. 4. Your diet is crucial to your #thyroidhealth and energy levels. The problem is that conventional medicine doesn’t take it into consideration at all when a thyroid treatment is prescribed. 5. Your #microbiome is off due to poor diet, overuse of antibiotics and #leakygut that is so common in people with #hashimotosdisease So, what can you do? Get an optimal thyroid treatment that includes optimizing your meds and doses, restore broken thyroid hormone pathway to ensure that your thyroid hormones actually get into your cells, addresses the #autoimmunity and diet, replenish good bacteria and correct nutritional deficiencies. I would like to let you know that you can learn about how this whole process in our FREE Hypothyroidism Seminar: The Right And Wrong Ways To Heal and also get FREE live potent probiotic and FREE premium high quality protein that can help with microbiome and protein deficiency related fatigue, through my website at https://outsmartdisease.com/free or just use the link in my Instagram profile description at @outsmartdisease <<<== click

This is invisible illness. We’re in Chicago this weekend and I want nothing more than to be here, to really be present, but I’m struggling. I’ve bailed on plans all weekend long, stayed in the hotel room to rest, trying to summon the energy to find the little moments of joy in this trip. My head is pounding. Lack of sleep has me feeling so weak. I constantly feel on the verge of bursting into tears out of exhaustion. It sucks, but I know I’ll be okay. Autoimmune disease is full of ups and downs, but my life isn’t ruled by my illness anymore. I choose to focus on the good parts. I choose to trust that I’ll be feeling better after some rest. I choose to travel and take the risk that sometimes it won’t go as well as I’d hoped. And I choose to remember that life is good ❤️

SWIPE >>>>By popular demand here is the Honey & Lemon Gummi Bear recipe. Mind you, my intention was to make raspberry ones but I forgot to buy the frozen raspberries on my food shop ‍♀️ When I realized, I swore a bit (actually, a lot) then decided to use what I DID have. And the result was much better than anticipated! Even my husband liked them (and subsequently ate 90% of them ... ) I can’t be too mad though as he bought me the Gummi Bear mould ★ Ingredients: - Juice from 2-3 lemons (about 100-150ml) If you want them less ‘lemony’ just mix in a bit of water - 1/4 cup honey - 3 teaspoons gelatine ★ Method: - Heat lemon juice and honey in a saucepan over low heat - Add gelatine and stir on low heat continuously until the gelatine dissolves - Use a syringe/dropper (see 2nd pic) and use it to place the mix into the gummi mould. - Refrigerate for 2-3 hours. Remove from mould and eat them all in one sitting (or keep leftovers in fridge) ★ You can get the moulds from eBay - Mark paid $8.50 for this one. Some come with droppers/syringes, some don’t. Have fun making lots of different flavours! - - - - - #gummyrecipe #gummibears #autoimmuneprotocol #aipcertifiedcoach #aipcoach #coffsharbour #coffscoast #ballina #grafton #portmacquarie #autoimmunediseases #autoimmunepaleo #aippaleo #aip #hashimotos #hashimotosdisease #health #nutrition #autoimmunepaleocertifiedcoach #aiprecipes #wellness #wellbeing #diet #fitness #lifestyle #healthy #healyourgut #bestresultleastrestrictivediet #guthealth

WHAT IF:⁣ you gave yourself permission to have a cookie on a Monday?⁣ ⁣ you didn’t eat everything in the fridge Sunday, just because Monday you are going to be “good”?⁣ ⁣ traveling meant fun & adventure vs. the panic of getting off your routine?⁣ ⁣ you cancelled a morning workout because you listened to your body that wanted to sleep in & that was OK?⁣ ⁣ you deleted your myfitnesspal from your phone & listened a little more to your own intuition about what to eat?⁣ ⁣ you didn’t hate yourself after “overeating” but you forgave yourself instead?⁣ ⁣ you didn’t say horrible & hateful things to yourself when you looked in the mirror?⁣ ⁣ you knew we ALL have gone through crap & you’re not alone/those things don’t define you?⁣ ⁣ FOOD FREEDOM is simply no longer being controlled by food. It’s eating for self-respect, because you care about your health & your body, NOT because you want to punish it. ⁣ ⁣ It’s working with your body vs. against it. It’s choosing to care MOST about how you feel vs. just what you look like. ⁣ ⁣ We’re taught by the diet industry & media to hate our bodies so we buy their programs, pills and procedures. So if you’ve ever failed on a diet, understand the problem was not YOU, it was the diet.⁣ ⁣ Our bodies do not like to be restricted. Hunger is not bad or wrong. Your body WANTS to thrive & will push back when it feels like it’s not.⁣ ⁣ We have to stop thinking we know better than our bodies inherently know they need. (But you have to start slowing down, create boundaries, & tune in to hear that voice).⁣ ⁣ I have several ways to either work with me through customized & personalized 1:1 support, or learn from me with programs & resources, comment below if you’d like to talk more about what may be right for YOU so you can finally break the cycle, and feel free.⁣ ⁣ ✨

Self-care is so important. . I know you know that. But really. It is so important. . My mom and I brunched at a local crepe place and then walked and shopped downtown with no real agenda. I was kid-free and schedule-free for 5 whole hours yesterday and I feel like a new person. . Find the people in your life who will keep asking you to do things, and then actually take them up on it. It's not selfish to spend time away from your family every now and then... it's necessary. . Also, I want to talk to married people for a second. I am constantly encouraging my husband to go spend time with friends and do things that recharge him, but he has mentioned that many of his friends just don't make time to hang out all that often. Their wives frequently give them a hard time when they want to hang out with the guys and that conflict is just not worth it to them. . On the flip side, I know many women who won't typically spend time with friends because their husband has no idea how to feed the kids dinner, put them to bed, etc. and those husbands make it extremely difficult for them and the conflict and prep-work is just not worth it to them. . Women: I get that putting kids to bed without help is hard, or you have had a stressful day at work, or maybe you've been with the kids all day already (Hello! I really get that because I live that.) . Men: Reading directions on a Mac n cheese box might be new to you, making sure your kids brush their teeth might be frustrating, changing diapers isn't pleasant. I get it. . But if you are both the type to never take time for yourselves, you need to change that. You just do. . Give your spouse the space to go be carefree (whatever that looks like) regularly and without guilt trips, and expect the same in return and see what happens. I dare you. . How do you do self-care? Leave me a comment and let me know. I need to get better at this and would love to hear your ideas!
