• • • I have been dreading today all week. Today was a huge reminder that my life has changed drastically from last year. Don't get me wrong - I'm by no means sad about this change - I just don't adapt well to change if you haven't noticed. (I can't even accept my body has changed when I've made those changes ‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️) Just another thing to work on in life. • So today I focused on myself. I went and got a manicure and pedicure, went shopping and bought lots of new clothes that actually fit (down ANOTHER size!!! ) and of course made my way to the gym. No self care day is ever complete without a gym session, right? • The things I miss from last year, I'll have back soon ... Just the tables turned a bit ... Until then, I'll keep working my ass off to get where I want and need to be. • #fitness #weightloss #weightlossjourney #weightlifting #gym #gymmotivation #womenfitness #fitnessmotivation #cervicaldystonia #hashimotosthyroiditis #hashimotosweightloss #hashimotos #motivation #fitspo #fitfam #fitjourney #texasfit #healthyeating #healthy #eatclean #eathealthy #plantbased #girlswholift #bodybuilding #change #changeisgood

Above is patient @savanna.peach , who in her lab work , tested positive for Epstein Barr , reduced thyroid function , and a significantly stressed thymus gland...to name a few. . . Now for many a conventional practitioner these 2 bits of information might not seem connected...unless of coarse you have a proficient understanding where Epstein Barr likes to take up residence (hint thyroid) and how it gains a threshold to stay there (hint colonizing the thymus) ... a primary lymphoid organ needed for the T cell differentiation. . . But alas...before my Naturopath days...this pathogen obsessed Prima Donna had her original training in agriculture science...most specifically in usda organic standards as they pertain to parasite eradication in livestock...so if there’s one takeaway I bring to the practice of natural medicine not readily found ... its the concept that every hunter knows...if you want to catch your prey...tis’ best to learn to think like it ... and indeed that’s what I do. . . When EBV hijacks Thymus function , it impairs the differentiation of pathogen specific T cells...something that allows the virus to nearly go unopposed as it pertains to the body’s ability to surmount an adaptive immune response. So what to do ? . . @savanna.peach was given homeopathic ebv nosodes (deactivated ebv microbes) for immune modulation and training, lymph drainers (thymus is lymph tissue) iodoral, tyrosine, and other thyroid supportive botanicals for glandular support as well as to induce thermogenic detox in that system of the body, Nano silver, liposomal mitochondria support , and a few other accompaniments to essentially train her immune system what to look for so activation against EBV in the thymus could transpire and allow for proper immune system management. . . In essence...we’re kicking EBV the out of @savanna.peach thyroid and thymus glands , addressing not only the infection at hand...but instituting her body’s ability to use those glands functionally once again! The result...aside from being 6 pounds down on the scale .. @savanna.peach has described herself as never feeling better ! . . Picture☝above showing active thymus activation

I’ve been asked about how my husband is involved and how he handles, supports and tirelessly loves me with type 1 diabetes, and all that it goes with it. Financial burden, major health decisions, fertility, day to day routines to ensure safety and really clear communication, etc. I’ve never heard anyone ask their spouse to share what this looks like on the day to day. Because really that’s what it is, accepting me and the disease I carry daily. So my hubby wrote the rest of this post, and it’s part 1 to a video we’ll he filming on my YouTube channel. If you want to subscribe, link is in my bio! • “Firstly, to give the most simplistic answer, Piper having type 1 has never changed how I look at her. I have loved her for a long time. Way back to our early teen years, and not once have I viewed her autoimmune disease as something that was even a factor in my being able to fully love her. I guess that’s what it means to really love someone, you look past anything because you see the person beneath the surface. But to expand on the day to day life and the reality of being Piper’s support person, it isn’t always sunshine and cold cider. When she has a high number, and I see her in pain, it makes me sad and I want to be able to take that away. She did nothing to deserve this, but yet it’s out of our hands. She toughs it out, constantly learning about her disease and how to help herself and others. I see my role as simply, be a listening ear, a crying shoulder, and always willing to help with the physical acts of taking care of her type 1. For example, getting her supplies for a site change when she needs it and she’s comfy in bed at the end of a long day. These little things, while very small are just a simple way to help ease the burden of the day to day grind with type 1. Type 1 is a hidden disease that sometimes, I can get in the bad habit of not being involved enough when Piper’s numbers are good (or bad) and she’s being quiet about it. She’s suffering silently and I’m not checking in enough. I’d say that’s an important thing to remember as the support person of someone with type 1 or any other chronic disease. Silence doesn’t = okay.”- Wyatt pt. 1

Battling chronic illness and choosing to heal can be a very lonely road for most people. It was like I went to bed one night and woke up a completely different person. It was February 3, 2015 to be exact and it’s when my health started to spiral out of control. It’s when my mysterious symptoms escalated and I found myself running from doctor-to-doctor trying to get better. The thing is, your friends and family members will never understand what you’re going through until they are dealing with it themselves. They don’t know what it’s like to feel so exhausted they can’t get out of bed, have brain fog so thick they can’t form a sentence, have doctors dismiss their symptoms like they’re crazy, and think about their future with fear instead of hope. In 2018, shortly after I fully committed to healing with @medicalmedium, my past friendships shifted pretty dramatically overnight. I always thought it was something I did and replayed everything over in my head day-after-day, and I spent many hours crying over it. Did I say something wrong? Did I do something that offended them? I beat myself up about this for months, until I read this quote and realized that maybe this was all meant to be and part of God’s plan, even if it wasn’t my choice at the time. It allowed me to focus on myself and healing, instead of anyone else. I didn’t have to put on a happy face or fake it anymore. I didn’t have to spend hours group texting or going to social events where I felt super out of place with my lifestyle. I spent my time alone with my husband and son and focused on healing my body with every minute of every day. And as hard and sad as it was, it was also extremely freeing. Healing changes who you are as a person, it’s impossible not to, which means relationships might shift too. Sometimes it has to be lonely so you can find your true self. There are so many others going through it at this very moment, so find a community of people on social media who are healing and will support you - I’m so thankful for the new friendships that I’ve made. Just know that you’re never truly alone and God’s always right by your side - He has a plan that’s bigger than you even know ✨

EVER HAVE A DAY LIKE THIS?☝️ . We did today. . Here's a few curveballs thrown our way on our trip (not complaining at all... Just sharing) . ✔️Google maps sent us to the wrong place twice (which was basically the middle of nowhere) . ✔️It was so hot outside for our hike through the Valley of the Temples here in Agrigento . ✔️I was up at 3am (knowing we had this tough day ahead) unable to sleep . ✔️I started to get a head cold . ✔️As soon as we got to the Turkish Steps, a weird storm blew in and we had to leave the beach and wait another hour and a half before we could go back . And in the moments when I was ready to just be done with our day, God threw that towel right back at me❗ . So we pushed through and made the best of the situation . More rest and even a nap in the car . As a result, we saw many amazing sights from antiquity as well as an unbelievable natural formation rising up out of the sea. . I'm grateful we kept going despite all the hiccups along the way . When has this happened to you? . . . . . #gutproblems #hashimotos #lowthyroid #chronicillnesswarrior #eczemalife #psoriasiswarrior #sooootired #chronicfatigue #leakygut #autoimmunity #autoimmunedisease #hashimotosthyroiditis #chronicillness #gutissues #thyroidproblems #eczema #psoriasis #skinproblems . . . @alexaschirm

You need to give your self permission to slow down. It’s ok to sit down and enjoy your meal. It’s ok to lay down for 20 minutes if you need a break or go to bed early if you’re tired. It’s ok to listen to your body and give it what it needs. This is the foundation of self-care. The spa, pedicures, etc. are all great, but I think we’ve found ourselves wanting to do these things in place of actually taking care of our basic needs. All too often we push and push until we become exhausted, depleted, or worse, get diagnosed with some sort of health issue. And then, even with a diagnosis, we just keep pushing and then wonder why we aren’t feeling better. Give yourself permission to take care of yourself. I know this can be difficult (I totally struggle with this!) but if you drive yourself into the ground then you won’t have the opportunity to serve those around you and be the parent, spouse, friend, sibling, teacher, professional, etc. that you were meant to be. #thyroidhealing #autoimmunehealing #hypothyroidmom #hyperthyroid #hashimotoswarrior #gravesdiseasefighter #hypothyroid #hashimotosthyroiditis

Self-care is so important. . I know you know that. But really. It is so important. . My mom and I brunched at a local crepe place and then walked and shopped downtown with no real agenda. I was kid-free and schedule-free for 5 whole hours yesterday and I feel like a new person. . Find the people in your life who will keep asking you to do things, and then actually take them up on it. It's not selfish to spend time away from your family every now and then... it's necessary. . Also, I want to talk to married people for a second. I am constantly encouraging my husband to go spend time with friends and do things that recharge him, but he has mentioned that many of his friends just don't make time to hang out all that often. Their wives frequently give them a hard time when they want to hang out with the guys and that conflict is just not worth it to them. . On the flip side, I know many women who won't typically spend time with friends because their husband has no idea how to feed the kids dinner, put them to bed, etc. and those husbands make it extremely difficult for them and the conflict and prep-work is just not worth it to them. . Women: I get that putting kids to bed without help is hard, or you have had a stressful day at work, or maybe you've been with the kids all day already (Hello! I really get that because I live that.) . Men: Reading directions on a Mac n cheese box might be new to you, making sure your kids brush their teeth might be frustrating, changing diapers isn't pleasant. I get it. . But if you are both the type to never take time for yourselves, you need to change that. You just do. . Give your spouse the space to go be carefree (whatever that looks like) regularly and without guilt trips, and expect the same in return and see what happens. I dare you. . How do you do self-care? Leave me a comment and let me know. I need to get better at this and would love to hear your ideas!
